Jesus Barraza
is an interdisciplinary artist with a MFA in Social Practice & a Masters in Visual Critical Studies from California College of the Arts. He is co-founder of Dignidad Rebelde, a graphic arts collaboration that produces screen prints, political posters & multimedia projects & a member of JustSeeds Artists Cooperative a decentralized & Mexico. He is a lecturer in Ethnic Studies at the U.C. Berkeley.
Dr. Mauricio Barros de Castro
is the author of three books on Afro-Brazilian Popular Culture & is published in AM Journal of Art and Media Studies (2018) & African and Black Diaspora: An International Journal (2016). professor at the Rio de Janeiro State University, His areas of expertise include interdisciplinary perspectives on Contemporary Art, Black Popular Culture, African Diaspora &
Afro-Latinx History.
Dr. Guisela Latorre
is the author of Democracy on the Wall: Street Art of the Post-Dictatorship Era in chile (2019) & Walls of Empowerment: Chicana/o Indigenist Murals from California (2008). She specializes in modern and contemporary U.S. Latinx and Latin American art with a special emphasis on Chicana/Latina feminism.
Dr. Laura Pérez
is author of Eros Ideologies: Writings on Art, Spirituality, and the Decolonial (2019) & Chicana Art: The Politics of Spiritual and Aesthetic Altarities (2007). She curated UC Berkeley’s first and only US Latina/o Performance Art series, co-curated the multimedia exhibition Chicana Badgirls: Las Hociconas & curated Labor + a(r)t + orio: Bay Area Latin@ Arts Now. She is professor in ethnic studies & Chair of the Latinx Research Center at uc berkeley.
